Last month, we toured the Willard Community Center. It was so neat to see a renovated 100-year-old building providing many uses for the community!
There are many opportunities for us to give back to our community. Could you donate materials or labor to help build a house or other community project? Sponsor a team or event that is close to your heart? At LL Countertops we’ve sponsored Strides Against Breast Cancer and Relay for Life teams, donated countertops for the Lincoln Children’s Museum and YMCA, supported B.A.C.A in their fight against human-trafficking and volunteered with HBAL and the Remodelers Council.
Giving back in this way shows we are part of our local community and gives our customers another reason to support local businesses. Please think of some organizations and become involved. One way you can give back is by participating in HBAL’s upcoming Santa Cop project on November 18. This is where HBAL members and their families build toys to be distributed by LPD officers to kids they encounter out in the field. I can’t think of a better way to kick off the holiday season.
Another event to consider is the class, Defusing the Ticking Time Bomb: Techniques for Tense Situations, which will be held on November 13. This would be great for anyone since we all have the occasional difficult conversations with clients or co-workers.
