Looking back into August, the event that stuck out as the most fun was the golf tournament. I have been participating in the Remodeler’s Council Golf Tournament fundraiser for a few years now and it just gets better and better. I want to thank the HBAL staff for pulling out all the stops and taking care of every golfer, volunteer and vendor/sponsor. They lead the way with these types of events for HBAL and Remodelers Council Members and continue to do a great job.

Participating in the golf tournament, for me, has always been about getting to know others in the organization and providing a few staff members and friends in the industry with a fun day away from the job site. But having been involved more deeply as the Chair of the Council, I have learned that the day golfing makes a big difference for so many people. It is, afterall, a fundraiser. So what are we raising funds for?

Proceeds go to Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation which supports community service projects focused on housing, scholarships for students pursuing a career related to the building industry, and industry related local educational programs. This is our 31st year. The tournament started on August 5, 1992 at North Forty Golf Course (which is no longer a business, 84th and Adams) and the cost was $15 per player. It now brings in several thousand dollars in golf fees, games and donations.
