Expanding Homeownership Opportunities in Lincoln

Affordable homeownership requires collaboration between builders, lenders and community partners. Nebraska Housing Resource (NHR) offers two programs designed to help make homeownership more attainable while supporting the development of workforce housing in Lincoln.

Down Payment Assistance Program

NHR’s Down Payment Assistance Program offers $15,000 in down payment assistance to eligible buyers purchasing qualifying newly constructed homes in Lincoln. The program helps reduce upfront homebuying costs and gives more households an opportunity to become homeowners.

Builder Loan Program

NHR’s Builder Loan Program offers 2% interest loans to eligible builders developing new homes or acquiring and rehabilitating existing homes for sale to owner-occupants. The program helps builders pursue projects that support more attainable homeownership opportunities.
