The Home Builders Association of Lincoln (HBAL) held its first Cruisin’ for the Trades Car Show on Sunday, May 1. In addition to the 175+ cars entered in the contest, the event included large machinery, food trucks and music. First and second place winners received trophies in each of the twenty classes. The event raised almost $9,000 for the Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation which will be used to provide financial support to local high school industrial technology programs and scholarships to those furthering their education in construction-related fields.
The Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation was established in 2009 as a 501(c)(3) charitable, non-profit organization dedicated to the future of the home building industry in Lancaster County. The Foundation’s mission is to support the educational and charitable activities of the Home Builders Association of Lincoln. We support the community by contributing to community service projects focused on housing, providing scholarships for students pursuing a career related to the building industry, and providing funding for other industry related educational programs. The Foundation has given over $273,000 to various community service projects since 2010.
