We’ve spent the last several weeks telling you about the Foundation’s first 15 years. But what about the next 15? Or 50?
The Foundation’s Board of Directors hopes to see the Foundation become fully endowed at $1,000,000 within the next several years. Once it is endowed, the invested principal will generate thousands of dollars a year and the impact for our community will be truly significant!
To jump start this next phase, and inspired by a generous memorial gift last year, the Foundation approached HBAL’s Board of Directors to initiate a new fundraising drive among HBAL members to donate at a business or personal level. Board members not only agreed to contribute the first round of donations but also voted to have HBAL match the first $50,000 raised. The response from Board members was very generous and over $75,000 was donated or pledged by the end of 2024! With the $50,000 match, that’s $125,000! And we’ve only just begun.
