We had a successful event-filled month in May. Thank you to everyone who helped with the Car Show. We had a good turn out considering the morning’s misty weather, but the sun eventually came out and so did the spectators. We raised over $8,000 for the HBAL foundation.

It was a beautiful week for the Spring Parade of Homes. We received great feedback and it sounds like many of the homes were full of visitors throughout the week.

On May 17, I attended, along with a few other HBAL board members, the celebration of the 29th home built by the Lincoln Northeast High School residential construction students. These students gained hands-on construction experience and knowledge that you can’t get from reading a text book. The best part though, was as they were individually recognized you could see the pride they had knowing they helped to build a house that would be someone’s future home.

As we move into warmer weather and the planning of vacations, keep in mind the HBAL golf tournament on June 2 and the Remodelors golf tournament on August 18. These are both fun events to help with or participate in and a great way meet other members, plus it’s a day out of the office.
